Schedules and timers

Updated yesterday

A timer counts down once. A schedule repeats at a set time on the days you choose. Both live on the light itself, so they run even when your phone is off or out of the house.

Set a timer

  1. Tap the light on Home to open its controller, then tap Timer.
  2. Pick 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours, or tap Custom for anything from 1 minute to 12 hours.
  3. Tap Start the timer.

When the timer ends the light switches: a light that is on turns off, a light that is off turns on. While it runs the controller shows "Counting down". Cancel keeps the light as it is. One timer at a time per light, or per set of synced lights. If "Timer finished" is on under You › Notifications, the phone that set the timer gets a note when it ends.

Add a schedule

  1. Controller › Schedule › New schedule.
  2. Set the time with the hour buttons, the 5-minute buttons and AM or PM.
  3. Choose Turns on or Turns off.
  4. Under Repeats, tap the days, or Every day or Weekdays. A schedule with no days runs once.
  5. Tap Save schedule.

A schedule turns the light on or off; it does not set brightness or color. Set the look you want on the light and the schedule switches it on at that look.

Edit, pause or delete

In the Schedule panel, tap a schedule's time to edit it, or use its switch to pause and resume it. In the editor, Delete this schedule removes it; the light keeps working. The top row, All schedules, pauses or resumes every schedule on that light at once. The same time cannot be added twice: edit the one that is already there.

The grey example rows

A light with no schedules shows two suggestions, switched off: 7:00 AM On on weekdays and 11:30 PM Off every day. They do nothing until you switch one on, and then it is a real schedule. Remove this example hides them.

Time zone

Schedules use the light's own time zone, which you can see under Light settings › Details. If it is wrong, contact us and we will correct it.
