New router or Wi-Fi password:
reconnect your lights
Updated yesterday
Each light remembers one network. After a new router, a new provider or a changed Wi-Fi password, every light shows offline until you hand it the new details. Your lights stay on your account, with their names and spaces.
Reconnect a light
- Update the MOD LIGHTING app if it offers an update. Older versions skipped a light that was offline.
- Put your phone on the new 2.4 GHz network.
- In the app, tap the light on Home, then the ⋯ at the top right to open Light settings, and tap Re-pair this light.
- Confirm the new network and type its password.
- When the app says it is searching, hold the pairing button in the middle of the remote for 5 to 10 seconds, until the light blinks, then let go.
The light keeps its name and its space. Then the next light, one at a time. You can also start from Home › Pair a light; it does the same thing.
Update the saved network for future pairing
You › App settings › Wi-Fi for pairing holds the network the app offers for the next light. Tap Change network and enter the new one. This does not move lights that are already connected; use Re-pair this light for those.
If a light will not re-pair
Please do not remove it from the app. Contact us with the email you sign into the app with and the names of the lights, and we will clear them on our side so you can pair them as new.
