Bringing the Magic of Sunset Into the Home
Some of the most meaningful design ideas begin with a simple moment.
For Xixi Yang, that moment happens almost every evening outside her Los Angeles home. As the sun dips behind the canyon, the sky turns soft gold and the city skyline begins to glow.
An entertainment TV host for CNN/HLN and the Associated Press turned lifestyle influencer, Xixi has long had a strong eye for interiors. After building her dream home overlooking the canyon with her husband, sunsets quickly became part of her daily routine.
That daily ritual sparked the idea for a lighting collection.
Alongside the launch of her décor brand Xixi Yang Home, she partnered with MOD LIGHTING to create a series inspired by the warm, fleeting glow of sunset.
“Nothing elevates a space more than a statement light,” Xixi shares.
The result is The Golden Hour Collection, a sculptural series of brass and crystal chandeliers and sconces designed to capture the warmth and softness of sunset.
The Inspiration: Light in Its Most Beautiful Form
“I named it Golden Hour because I want to bring the beauty of an LA sunset into every home—even if it’s cloudy outside,” Xixi explains.
Golden hour is not simply a time of day. It is a feeling. It softens edges, enhances textures, and fills a space with calm radiance.
From the first sketches to the final installations in Xixi’s own home, each design was developed closely with the MOD LIGHTING design team to balance sculptural beauty with everyday functionality.
Within the collection, some pieces capture the movement and sparkle of golden hour, while others reflect its quiet stillness. Together they form a cohesive story of light at its most expressive.

Layers of textured crystal soften and diffuse light into a gentle ambient glow, creating a sense of calm and balance within the space. Even when unlit, the cascading tiers form a sculptural presence that feels elegant and airy.
“This is one of my favorite pieces,” Xixi shares. “The textured crystals soften the light into this beautiful ambient glow.”
Installed in her living room overlooking the skyline, Cascade reflects the peaceful moment when golden hour settles into evening.
Radiance: Fullness & Presence
Radiance embodies the fullness of golden hour—the moment when light fills a room completely.
Cascading crystal elements radiate from a sculptural brass structure, creating an expansive glow that feels warm and grounding. Bold yet refined, Radiance anchors larger rooms with balance and composure.
Xixi installed Radiance in her bedroom, where it adds warmth and quiet luxury while remaining visually light.
Sunrise: Balance & Renewal
Inspired by the calm of a new day, Sunrise represents balance, renewal, and quiet confidence.
Its circular form creates a welcoming, even glow, while crystal accents add symmetry and refinement. Because of its single-tier design, Sunrise can sit closer to the ceiling, making it ideal for homes with 8–9 foot ceilings, entryways, or smaller spaces.
Clean, versatile, and elegant, Sunrise proves that lighting doesn’t have to be oversized to make an impact.
Sunset: Arrival & Stillness
Sunset represents the moment of arrival—when the day slows and a space feels complete.
Layered circular forms and crystal detailing create depth while maintaining warmth and symmetry. Architectural yet inviting, Sunset delivers a refined statement that feels both grounded and balanced.
In Xixi’s own home, two large Sunset chandeliers hang in her grand foyer beneath a dramatic 20-foot ceiling, suspended with an 11-foot drop to fill the vertical space beautifully.
The result is a welcoming moment the instant guests enter the home.
Prism: Movement & Energy
Prism captures the most energetic moment of golden hour, when light feels alive and constantly shifting.
Faceted crystal elements catch and scatter illumination from every angle, creating reflections that evolve as you move through the room. The result is a dynamic glow that feels sculptural and vibrant.
Ideal for dining rooms, contemporary living spaces, or interiors that call for a bold statement, Prism brings motion and brilliance into the space.
Lustre: Intimacy & Atmosphere
Lustre is the most intimate expression of the Golden Hour Collection.
Designed as a sculptural wall sconce, its crystal elements diffuse light into a soft, atmospheric glow that is felt more than seen. Subtle yet elegant, Lustre enhances hallways, bedrooms, closets, and transitional spaces.
Xixi recommends installing sconces approximately 60–65 inches from the floor, allowing them to sit comfortably at eye level while complementing surrounding lighting layers.
