Frequently asked questions about Modern Door Hardware

Modern door hardware is a small category with long consequences. A lever is used dozens of times a day for decades, so it is felt more often than it is looked at. This range covers the working set: levers, hinges, magnetic door stops and a keyed entry lock.

The working set

Belmont and Hendrix are the levers, zinc alloy in brushed gold or matte black, each in passage and privacy versions. Royale adds crystal to the same two finishes. The stops run to seven designs, from the small copper Cavo to the zinc alloy Avi, all magnetic and sold in pairs. A stainless steel hinge in packs of six and a matte black front door lock set finish the set.

Choosing by function

Fit comes first. Measure the borehole, the door thickness and the backset before ordering, since those three numbers decide whether any handle fits. Then match function to the door: passage levers for hallways and closets, privacy versions with a push-button lock for bedrooms and bathrooms, and the keyed set for an exterior entry. A replacement lever reuses the existing borehole.

Finish discipline

One lever finish per floor usually reads best. Pick brushed gold or matte black, then let the hinges and door stops follow, since a chrome stop under a brushed gold lever reads as an accident. The stops carry accents the levers do not, from matte grey to antique brass. Beyond the door, the crystal door handles suit bedroom doors, and the same metals continue across our cabinet hardware.

Choose the lever first, then bring the hinges and stops into the same finish.
