Most people know the look they want before they know the type of light, and a catalog sorted by type makes them find it four times over. A room already has a direction, set by the furniture, the floor, and the hardware, and the light has to join it. Sorting by style puts every chandelier, pendant, wall light, and ceiling light that belongs to one look on one page, so the type decision happens inside a look that already fits the room, not across the whole catalog.

How to choose

Pick the look the room already has. Metropolitan suits height, hard surfaces, and open plans, where a piece is read as a shape from across the room. Mid-Century suits warm metal, glass orbs, and exposed structure. Minimalist suits a room with no ornament to hide behind, where proportion does the work. Scandinavian suits pale wood, linen, and a room built from several small sources of warm light rather than one bright one.

Where each room starts

Every piece in a look, across all four types, sits on its style page. The Metropolitan lighting page holds the sculptural crystal and brass pieces and the black steel; the Mid-Century lighting page holds the brass, the glass globes, and the candle arms; the Minimalist lighting page holds the LED bars, the strips, and the moon and earth discs; and the Scandinavian page holds the hand-knit bamboo and hemp, the travertine, and the Nordic orbs.
