Outdoor lighting is the one you most want to run on its own. A smart exterior light comes on at dusk, dims after midnight, and is off by sunrise without anyone touching a switch, and the entrance is lit before the car turns in.
What outdoor smart lighting includes
Every fixture here is the smart version of a MOD LIGHTING outdoor design: the Haylen strip lights, including the colour-changing Haylen RGB, the Harper lattice wall light, the Gleam ring, the outdoor Luna, and the Terri, Brook, Brooklyn, and Vetra sconces. All are rated for the outdoors and connect to the MOD Smart app for schedules, dimming, and colour temperature. The indoor versions live on the indoor smart lighting page.
How to choose
Pick the fixture the way you would its standard version: a strip or ring for a wide, plain wall, a sconce to flank a door or a garage. Then decide the control you need. A dusk to dawn schedule covers most entrances. Dimming matters on a patio, where full brightness at dinner and a low glow afterwards are two different evenings. The Haylen RGB adds colour for occasions.
Places and pairings
A matching pair of smart sconces on either side of the front door, set to one schedule, is the most common setup. On a garage, two Haylen strips on one scene light the whole face of the door. The standard versions of these fixtures sit in the main outdoor lighting collection, and the smart parent page, smart lighting, holds indoor and outdoor together.
