A living room lit from the ceiling alone goes flat after dark. The sets on this page are a designer's answer, chosen so the statement overhead, the lamp beside the seating and the light on the walls arrive as one decision rather than three.

The pieces, by layer

Overhead sits Obsidian, a crystal chandelier on a black frame in five sizes, with Lynx as the quieter Nordic alternative. At seated height the Ora Table Lamp pairs stainless steel with alabaster, so the light comes through stone. On the walls, the Alba Sconce carries the same stone and Cadel draws a linear black line from 22 to 47 inches.

Building the room

Three light sources is the working minimum for a living room and four is comfortable: ambient overhead, task at seated height, accent on the walls. Size the overhead piece by the room formula, length plus width in feet read as inches, and keep roughly 7 feet of clearance under a chandelier in a walking area. Most MOD indoor lights are compatible with a standard wall dimmer.

Why it reads as designed

Consistency, mostly. Every piece runs warm white at 3000K, with the two linear wall lights adjustable across three color temperatures by remote, and the metals hold to black, steel and gold. Extend it where the room needs more: the table and floor lamps range covers the corner a ceiling fixture leaves dark, and the modern wall lights collection carries further accent options.
