For Kate, a hardworking mom, home should feel like a sanctuary, but her living room has become “a place where things get tossed” with little room for relaxation. In this heartwarming episode, Alexandra Levy listens to Kate’s story and steps in to help her reclaim the space—creating a cozy haven for cherished moments with her 11-year-old daughter.
Alexandra brings her vision to life, designing a luxurious yet practical space that gives Kate the restful ambiance she’s been longing for. Featuring MOD Lighting’s Angelica Chandelier, this transformation is about creating a room where Kate can make lasting memories with her family. As Alexandra beautifully puts it, it’s “a room you want to be in, not just walk past.”
For her transformation, Alexandra Levy called the Angelica Chandelier the “crown jewel” of the room, creating a warm, inviting ambiance. She highlighted its solid brass construction, translucent bulbs, and dimmer compatibility: “It’s adjustable, made of solid brass, with stunning translucent bulbs, and it’s compatible with a dimmer switch,” she says.
For a moody, modern, organic look, Alexandra used a dark gray lime wash technique, emphasizing its affordability and ease: “It’s affordable, quick, and easy enough to do yourself,” she notes. Finishing touches included an electric fireplace, Coretec flooring for a luxurious but low-maintenance feel, nature-inspired art, and warm-toned furnishings—creating a sophisticated and welcoming space.
The moment we’ve all been waiting for! After a month of hard work—designing, measuring, sourcing, and decorating—the transformation is ready to be revealed. Alexandra walks Kate into her renewed living space. When the blindfold comes off, Kate’s reaction is pure joy: "Oh my god, it’s so beautiful!" her voice filled with emotion. "Thank you so much for doing this for me. I absolutely love it. It’s everything I hoped for." Alexandra, moved by Kate’s reaction, gently replies, “This is the home you truly deserve.” In that heartfelt exchange, they share a moment of gratitude and wonder while the space becomes more than a room; it’s a testament to care, creativity, and trust.
