What size artificial plant should I choose?
Are artificial plants realistic enough to pass for real ones?
Where do faux plants work best in a home?
Do I need a separate planter?
How much maintenance do artificial plants need?
Some corners of a house get no usable daylight, and they are usually the ones where something green would help. These artificial plants hold their shape and color where a living plant cannot, with no watering, no sunlight, and no upkeep.
Six sculptural plants, one planter
The Bird of Paradise stands up to 82 ¾ inches of broad tropical leaf, the Fiddle Leaf Fig carries glossy fullness at 47 ¼ to 70 ¾ inches, and the Dracaena arches slender leaves into a tall, structured column. Monstera and Monstera Albo bring the split and variegated leaves, and the ZZ Plant finishes a shelf or console at 29 ½ or 35 ½ inches. The matte plant pot, white or dark grey, is sold separately.
Choosing size and placement
Work from the floor up: pieces from 47 inches read as small trees and suit an entry, a landing, or the far side of a sofa, while 23 ½ to 35 ½-inch plants sit on consoles and shelves.
Styling greenery with light
A tall plant near a floor lamp catches light through its leaves and immediately looks more real, while the same piece under flat overhead lights loses its depth; place one where a table lamp already glows and both gain. The pots are specified for indoor use, so keep the arrangement inside.
Pick the height first and the leaf second, then size the pot to the plant with the guide on its listing.
